Promoter

This promotion (the "Promotion") is run by Paul Smith trading as 4chordsStudios ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: [email protected]. By taking part you accept these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

What is on offer

  • The Promotion has two parts:
  • 1. Free month. When you register with your name and email, we issue you a licence that unlocks the full SUS4 plugin suite (all 25 plugins) free for 30 days.
  • 2. Free lifetime licence. If you publicly post a qualifying video using the plugins and submit the link to us, and we approve it, we issue you a free lifetime licence for the full SUS4 plugin suite (normally £199), covering every plugin and every future update.
  • "SUS4 plugins" means the SUS4 audio plugin suite published by us for macOS, Windows and Linux.

Promotion period

The Promotion runs from the date it goes live until we close it. We may amend, suspend, extend or withdraw the Promotion at any time, including before any stated end date, where there is a reasonable cause to do so. We will honour valid registrations and approved submissions made before the Promotion closes.

Who can take part

  • You must be aged 18 or over and a legal resident of a country where the Promotion is open and where receiving the licences is lawful.
  • The Promotion is not open to us, or to anyone professionally connected with running it, or their immediate families.
  • One registration and one free month per person, identified by email address. Bulk, automated, or multiple-identity entries are not permitted.

The free month

  • The free month is a single 30-day licence per person. No payment card is required and you will not be charged. The licence simply expires after 30 days unless you choose to subscribe.
  • The free month unlocks the current public beta builds of the SUS4 plugins (see "Beta software" below).
  • The licence is personal to you, is not transferable, and has no cash alternative. We may withdraw or refuse a licence where we reasonably suspect abuse or breach of these Terms.

How to win the lifetime licence

  • To qualify for a free lifetime licence you must:
  • (a) have registered for the Promotion with us;
  • (b) publicly post a genuine video that features a mix or track you made using one or more SUS4 plugins, on Instagram, Facebook or YouTube;
  • (c) collaborate with us on the post so it can also feature on our channels. On Instagram and Facebook, add "4chordsStudios" as a collaborator; on YouTube, clearly credit and tag/link 4chordsStudios; and
  • (d) submit the link to your post on the Promotion page using the same email you registered with.
  • One free lifetime licence is awarded per person. You are welcome to post on more than one platform, but the lifetime licence is awarded once regardless of how many posts you make.

Verification and awarding

  • Every submission is reviewed by a person. We will check that the post is public, genuinely features the plugins, and is collaborated with or credits us as set out above.
  • Approved licences are sent to your registered email, usually within a few working days. Awarding is at our sole but reasonable discretion. Our decision is final.

Beta software

  • The plugins provided under this Promotion are pre-release, beta versions. They are provided "as is" and "as available". They may contain bugs, may be incomplete, and may change or be withdrawn.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, the beta plugins are provided without warranties of any kind, and we do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with your system or projects. You use them at your own risk, so please save and back up your work.
  • Your free month and any lifetime licence carry through to the full public release, and a lifetime licence includes future updates.

Your post and the permissions you give us

  • You keep ownership of your post. By submitting it you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, reshare, lightly edit for length or format, display and distribute the post (together with your name and social handle) across our websites, social channels and marketing.
  • You confirm that: you created the post and own or have all rights needed in it and in the music it contains (including any samples, performances and other third-party rights); the post does not infringe anyone’s rights; you have the consent of anyone featured in it; and the post complies with the rules of the platform it is posted on, including any paid-partnership or branded-content disclosure rules.
  • We may feature your post but are not obliged to.

Disqualification

We may reject a submission or withdraw a licence where a post is private, deleted, or edited to remove the collaboration or credit; does not genuinely use the plugins; is misleading or infringes anyone’s rights; breaches a platform’s terms; or where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or multiple-identity entries.

Not affiliated with the platforms

This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, Meta Platforms, Inc., YouTube or Google. You provide your information to us, not to those platforms, and you release them from any liability connected with the Promotion. You are responsible for complying with each platform’s own terms.

Your data

  • We process your name, email and submission only to run the Promotion and issue your licences, in line with UK data protection law and our Privacy Policy. We will only contact you about your licence and this Promotion.
  • You can ask us to delete your data by emailing [email protected], subject to any records we are required to keep.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the Promotion or the beta plugins, and our total liability connected with the Promotion is limited to re-issuing the relevant licence. This does not affect your statutory rights.

General

We may update these Terms; the version published on this page at the time of your entry governs your participation. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continue in force. These Terms and the Promotion are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
