SUS4 Drum Pad gives you sixteen pads, a 16-step sequencer and a live looper for sketching beats on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Choose from 25 kits, from acoustic and hip-hop to classic drum machines and Latin, African and Indian percussion, and start playing straight away.
The pads sit in a four-by-four grid, and a long press on any pad opens its own level and pan so you can balance the kit. In the sequencer you toggle steps on a grid, set the tempo, record pad hits straight into the pattern against a metronome, and save patterns to come back to.
When a groove works, export the pattern as an audio file to share, or record a pass of pad hits in the Looper and let it cycle while you listen back. The app is useful for sketching a groove quickly, demonstrating a rhythm to a collaborator, or practising timing when you do not have a kit to hand.
