SUS4 Sight Reader is a sight-reading game with 150 progressive levels. Available on iPhone, iPad and Mac, it scrolls notes across the staff towards a playhead; you play each one on your instrument as it arrives, and the microphone listens and scores every note for pitch and timing.
The levels are grouped into five worlds that move through treble, bass, alto and tenor clefs, with the tempo and the number of notes climbing level by level. Miss the pass mark and your next attempt slows down to give you room; pass and the tempo builds back up towards the written speed. Hit, miss and streak counters keep score as you play, and Game Center leaderboards let you compare results.
The app is designed for musicians who read notation and want to improve their fluency, whether for session work, ensemble playing, or general musicianship. Regular sight-reading practice is one of the fastest ways to strengthen the connection between what you see on the page and what you play.
