SUS4 Chord ID listens through the microphone and names the chord you are playing. Play any chord on guitar, piano, or another melodic instrument and the app identifies the root, quality and any extensions it detects.
The recognition works on iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is particularly useful if you are playing by ear and have landed on something you like but cannot name, or if you are transcribing a track and want to confirm what you are hearing. It is also a practical ear training tool: play a chord, guess the name, then check.
Chord ID does not require you to enter notes manually or select from a diagram. You play, it listens, and it tells you what it heard. That immediate feedback loop is more useful in practice than looking up shapes in a reference book.
